It's been a great ride, thanks for taking us along...

Well, for those of you who've been following the Handsome Furs' CNN mini-documentary, it has finally come to the end. Capturing the adventures of two happy newlyweds whose passion for music and world travel took them to wonderful new places, Handsome Furs: Indie Asia was a really fun look into one of my favorite bands. To see a "greatest hits" video compilation, watch Episode 8: "Best Of" above. As for the future of this band, according to Exlaim.ca, even though Wolf Parade is in the midst of a world tour, Dan stated this:

I’m not [slowing down]. I’m working on new Handsome Furs stuff. I’m working on a handful of new songs, a new setup for the band and instrumentation, so... I’m actually insanely busy right now.

Perhaps a new album is in the works? One can only hope.

Handsome Furs - Indie Asia: Episode 7

The Handsome Furs continue to charm fans with their latest installment of CNN's Indie Asia: On Tour With The Handsome Furs. I found this to be the funniest episode thus far. In it, we get to see Dan and Alexie enjoying the downtime in Thailand and Singapore. Highlights include Dan's comment about recognizable clothing lines at the shopping mall, "there's Vodka the Clothes, and Buddy," as well as the fish that eat all the dead skin from the band's feet. You'll have to watch it to understand.

Episode 6 of Indie Asia: Dan has a near-death experience!

This episode of CNN's mini-documentary Indie Asia: On Tour with Handsome Furs: takes place in Vietnam, as the name would suggest. Up until now, we've seen the lighter side of touring through Asia with sightseeing and concert playing. In episode 6, however, we see the scarier side of traveling in a foreign country - Dan gets robbed by a sketchy cab driver, and cops are bribed to allow rock & roll. I love the old Vietnamese dude's quote, "Music may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without music." Check it out.

Handsome Furs - Episode 3 of CNN's mini-documentary

In CNN's third installment of Indie Asia, we see the Handsome Furs visiting the Great Wall of China during their Asian tour.

Dan: "Great Wall trivia part 3: You're not allowed to smoke at the Great Wall of China... we're smoking anyway... 'cause it's a long way to the top, man."

Episode 2 of Handsome Furs' CNN mini-Documentary

CNN has just posted the second episode of Indie Asia, a multi-part documentary following the Handsome Furs as they tour through Asia. Showing that it can be great to mix business and pleasure, husband/wife and bandmates Dan Boeckner and Alexei Perry travel to the Forbidden City and discovery its exotic mystique. Check it out.

As I watch all these videos, I just get more and more excited about how this is going to inspire another amazing album with new sounds from the Far East!

[news] Handsome Furs - CNN Special "Indie Asia"

CNN earns some cool points

CNN and the Handsome Furs have put together a mini-documentary that will be featured over the next few weeks. The band has been touring almost non-stop all over the world in support of their second LP Face Control (which made number 1 on Three Colours' Year End List for '09). CNN's blurb states:

Dan and Alexei are married and in a band called Handsome Furs. They love to travel, sharing their adventures with fans worldwide. They went on tour through Asia and recorded their journey for CNN.
