[playlist] Hump Day Power Play (2-15-2012)

Wild Cloud Nothings Editition

This week's Hump Day Power Play started around two songs: Cloud Nothings' "No Future/No Past" and Wild Nothing's "Chinatown". From there, it only made sense to through in the likes of Yuck, Black Lips, and Beach Fossils. The result was a smooth mix of shoegaze and noise pop/garage, which is quite good, in my opinion... but you don't have to take my word for it!

Hear it by simply clicking here. Playlist is below.

:: Hump Day Power Play (2-15-2012) ::
01 :: "No Future/No Past" - Cloud Nothings
02 :: "Get Away" - Yuck
03 :: "Mr. Driver" - Black Lips

06 :: "Chinatown" - Wild Nothing
07 :: "Baby's Arms" - Kurt Vile

[new music] Plains - "Stuck In The Night"

Plains - "Innovator" b/w "Stuck In The Night"

Plains, the one-song-sensation from Miami, Florida, is set to release their very first 7" single. Only 100 limited copies of "Innovator" b/w "Stuck In The Night" will drop sometime this August via Discosoma Records. To hear the band's second song/b-side, go to their MySpace page (here). It's not as catchy as "Innovator," but it's still a quality track. Of course, to hear "Innovator" or watch the very cool video, look below. Good things are going to come from these guys.

[new music] Plains - "Innovator"

New Music Worth Hearing

Big thanks goes out to Sound On The Sound's "Daily Choice" for exposing me to Plains, a Miami-based band that currently has only one killer song available for listening. The stop-start jam track, "Innovator," has an infections riff that's more contagious than tuberculosis. One listen and you'll be hooked. Watch the video above for an enhanced experience.

Currently, there's not too much info out about Plains, other than they're signed to 10K Island Records. You can download "Innovator" from their website here in some high-quality formats, or through the links below.
