Stop For Me, It's the Claw

So if you've ever lived in Seattle, you probably noticed some great street sign graffiti. Some of my favorites include Alien St (strategic pieces of tape on the former Allen St sign) and the Stop For Me, It's the Claw (shown above). While Capitol Hill was the birthplace for the original Claw sightings, my favorite interpretation of this joke lies on Stone Way (west side, between 43rd and 42nd). Capitol Hill tends to make their claws more lobster or robotic-like; Stone Way's sign, on the other hand, looks like something straight out of Nightmare on Elm Street. Anyway, it got me in the mood to listen to some "claw-inspired" songs, which took me back to 2003's Keep On Your Mean Side by the Kills. Speaking of the the Kills, they commence their North American tour in mid-April, and if you read the last post, you'll know that Alison Mosshart (aka "W") has joined supergroup The Dead Winter alongside Jack White, Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), and Jack Lawrence (Raconteurs).
