[video] Fleet Foxes - "The Shrine / An Argument"

Sean Pecknold's latest creation

Magical, imagination-provoking imagery drives this incredible Fleet Foxes' music video. Sean Pecknold has honed his mastery of animation and created one of his best films to date. I will say, the saxophone "solo" in this beautiful song is a bit grating when listening through Helplessness Blues, but watching the two-headed dragon scene in the video makes it much more tolerable.

Check out the video for "The Shrine / An Argument" above. And also take a gander at Fleet Foxes's live show as they continue their international tour.

[video] Grizzly Bear - "While You Wait for the Others"

Sean Pecknold's latest piece

This should be filed under old news that I somehow missed, but Sean Pecknold has created another fabulous stop-motion animation video for Grizzly Bear's "While You Wait for the Others." I just love how Pecknold finds such beauty in the simplest of things, and I respect the patience and discipline involved in stop-motion projects. The song appears on GB's latest album, Veckatimest, which is available at all fine record stores.

And in related news, it appears that Pecknold is currently working on a Beach House video. More news on that to follow. What an awesome job that must be!

Video: Elvis Perkins in Dearland - "Chains, Chains, Chains"

Sean Pecknold's latest brain child

Check out Elvis Perkins in Dearland's newest music video of "Chains, Chains, Chains," one of the many timeless classics heard on the band's eponymously named LP. The creator and director behind this great work is video wizard Sean Pecknold, whose resume includes videos created for his brother's band, Fleet Foxes ("Mykonos," "He Doesn't Know Why," and "White Winter Hymnal"). Yet another insanely unique and incredibly enjoyable work of art from Sean's creative mind.

Three Colours Gets A New Coat of Paint

Out with the old...

...in with the new.

After nearly a year, I've decided to retire the old header for this site. A promise made to the real artist behind the clay ball design has finally been met - to come up with an image of my own. That artist is Sean Pecknold, and to see the original inspiration, check out this cute little short entitled The Color Keeper (which features music by J. Tillman).

Fleet Foxes - "Mykonos" Single Out Today

Sun Giant's standout single "Mykonos" hits shelves today

Fleet Foxes released the single "Mykonos" b/w "False Knight on the Road" on Sub Pop Records today. For those of you who own the Sun Giant EP, "Mykonos" was probably the song that made you a FF fan in the first place. This majestic fairy-tale number is accompanied by the traditional folk song "False Knight" (which can be heard here), making this single a must-have for any fan. To purchase a 7" copy, you can follow this link to the band's official site. And if you still haven't seen the video that Sean Pecknold created for this single, check it out below.

Fleet Foxes - Mykonos Video

I'm a little behind on this post, but I wanted to point out that Sean Pecknold's video wizardry shines through yet again. This tortured genius's latest stop-motion music video for the Fleet Foxes song "Mykonos" is a beautiful adventure of two tiny paper triangles (closely resembling two feet at times). I love the little homage scene (with the eyes) from "The Universe & You."

The video was debuted for the UK single release of "Mykonos" b/w "False Knight on the Road". To hear the tradional rendition of "False Knight," head over to Robin Pecknold's solo page (he'll be posting more covers in the near-future under the monikers White Antelope or Monte Cristo). Watch the video, and enjoy...
